Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I love St. Patrick's Day.  I'm half Irish, so I suppose that is partially why.  I also enjoy decorating with 'the green!'  Here is my St. Patrick's Day card for this year.  I borrowed the design from Fixnthings on SplitCoastStampers.
I used that pretty Pleated Ribbon in Pear Pizzazz, embossed the Happy St. Patrick's greeting with Wild Wasabi Embossing Powder and used the Square Lattice Embossing Folder on the Whisper White background paper.  The main layer is Pocketful of Posies DSP and I added a Filigree Brad because I thought it had an Irish look about it.  I also used Old Olive cardstock paper as the base card layer.

Happy St. Patrick's Day to everyone and don't forget to wear green!

Concord Crush Blossom Flower

I love this color!  I admit, I thought it was too dark at first, but now I really love it.  I used my new Blossom Flower Punch to create this card along with the Mixed Bunch stamp set.  I think it gives it almost a Dutch Delft look to it.
I was really surprised at how bright the Whisper White Craft Ink came out on the dark purple cardstock.  Craft Ink holds it's true color, but it takes a while to dry completely, so don't touch it right away.  This design was borrowed from Lauri Ingram.  I used the Concord Crush Stitched Poly Ribbon and a dimensional to pop-up the center of the flower (cut out with the 3/4" Circle Punch).  The sentiment is from the Perfectly Penned stamp set.

Just a note, Concord Crush will be retiring in a few months when the new catalog comes out, so if you love it, be sure to get some before then!

New Product! Simply Scored Diagonal Plate

Now we have a way to score paper diagonally.  This offers many new possibilities for crafting, including making envelopes to fit any size card.  This flat hard plastic plate fits right into your Simply Scored base.  Easy and fun!
You can even line your envelope with a small square sheet of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) that you used on your card.  Simply cut out a square, use your Simply Scored to fold it (point to point), insert it into your envelope on the diagonal and adhere it with a bit of adhesive.  Very professional looking.

Happy Chinese New Year!

This is a card I made especially for a favorite aunt who celebrates Chinese New Year.  Yes, I know these are little Japanese gals, but I thought it was festive and fun and I really love this stamp set, even though it is retired now.
I used colored pencils to color my cute little gals, I borrowed the color combination from sleepyinseattle on SplitCoastStampers.  I used a base of Daffodil Delight layered with Poppy Parade.  I love coloring with pencils.

This stamp set is called Kimono Kids.

Sweet Pressed Cookies!

These are my Valentine cookies.  Sorry they are late in being posted, but I had to show you how cute they turned out.  And they were delicious, too!  I used the shortbread recipe in the Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps box and my whole family was surprised at how good they tasted.  We shared these at my daughter's Valentine's party at her American Heritage Girl's meeting.  They were a hit!
I just got the new 'Occasions' set for Spring, they include Easter (a bunny), Spring (a flower), and St. Patrick's Day (a clover).  This 'Holidays' set that I used here included the Valentine's heart, a snowflake for winter and an adorable pumpkin for Halloween.

Making these was easier than I thought it would be.  I formed a largish ball of dough, then just pressed down with the cookie press.  The large wooden handle made it very easy.  Then I added some colored sugar crystals just for fun.  I've seen the pumpkins done in orange sugar and they look so cute.

I see it's almost time for me to make my St. Patrick's Day cookies...I'd better look for some green sprinkles!
