Happy Halloween in August!

Here is the card I made for the Holiday Mini Catalog Swap (this new catty comes out tomorrow!).  I used the Halloween stamp from the Festive & Fun stamp set.
I love these colors...I used Lucky Limeade, Wisteria Wonder (purple), and Calypso Coral.  Isn't that new Ruffled Ribbon cute?  I embossed the background with the Spiderweb Embossing Folder and used markers to color in the saying.  Fun and easy!

Christmas Stocking Gift Card holders

Here is the project I made for the New Catalog Swap at the Hive Happening.  I decided to use my new Big Shot die, the Holiday Stocking from the new Mini Catalog that comes out in a couple of days.  So cute!  I really loved making this one.  I used the Jolly Bingo Bits stamp set to ink out some little holly and berries, using Versamark or Red Red and Wild Wasabi, depending on which color paper I was using.
For this stocking, I used the new Holly Berry Bouquet DSP from the new Mini Catalog, isn't it pretty?  I love those colors, brown with the Wild Wasabi and Real Red (it also uses Cherry Cobbler).
After I was done stamping, I used Sticky Strip to attach that beautiful new Very Vanilla Velvet Stitched Ribbon to the front and as a little loop holder, so it can be hung on the tree.
On the back side, I attached a small piece of the same colored paper as I used on the stocking itself to form the gift card holder.  The card will stick up a little over the top of the stocking, so it's easy to pull out.  Merry early Christmas!

Christmas in August?

Well, here I am back to post some pictures of the cards I swapped at the Hive Happening.  The first one I created for the Open Card Swapping.  Boy, was this fun.  As we entered the big room at 9am, we all started swapping cards willy nilly!  It helps to have a good memory so you don't swap cards with the same person twice, LOL!

Here's the card I swapped.  I used the new Letters to Santa DSP and a stamp from the Tags Till Christmas set and added some Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon.  The ink and paper are Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler.  Lots of trimming, but fun to make!

Just back from the Hive Happening!

Whew!  Was that fun or what?  I just got back from my first local "convention-like" swap/fun event.  It was great!  So many great gals to meet and lots of fun make and takes.  We all brought cards to swap, had a great lunch and watched some super demonstrations.

I'll post the cards I swapped and their "recipes" later today, but for now I just wanted to post a few pictures of some of the fun things we did...

Here we are swapping away!  This is the first swap of the day, the "Open Swap," where we could swap as many cards as we wanted to...wow!

Here we are doing one of the organized swaps.  Yes, this is actually very organized, lol.  Very exciting, too!  Our leader told us when to start and how to do it and within a few minutes, we each had a huge batch of new cards!  Woohoo!

Here's a little sneak peak at some of the cute paper flowers we all brought for display.  This one's not mine, but I thought it was one of the prettiest!

More pictures to come soon!
